The final exam requires you to use commas correctly in your own writing. It will be formally scored as part of your term grade. Instructions: Using a word processing program of some kind (Word, WordPerfect, Notepad), write an essay in which you illustrate (twice each) the five comma rules we have studied in this unit. Your essay should contain the following: Two sentences that use commas before conjunctions that join complete thoughts. Two sentences that use commas after introductory material. Two sentences that use commas to offset interrupters. Two sentences that use commas to separate items in a series. Two direct quotations, properly punctuated. Save and submit your completed essay.
